MCM-830-55 (Modified clay)
MCM-830-55 modified clay is a media also known as “organic clay”. Composition: 30% of organically modified bentonite and 70% of a special formula, a blend of anthracite coal and activated carbon.
Mainly intended for treating: hydrocarbons with a high molecular weight, chlorinated hydrocarbons and heavy metals. Works well when installed upstream of an activated carbon filter to extend the duration and effectiveness of coal. Modified clay can absorb oils and fats and it won’t clog. Can absorb between 30 and 60% of its weight.

• Contact time: 10 – 20 minutes.
• Treatment flow: 1 – 5 gpm / ft²
• Filtering layer thickness: 28 – 36 inches.
• Backwashes expansion: 10 – 20%.
