Ammonium chloride

Ammonium chloride. Great source of ammonia to initiate the growth of nitrifying bacteria. Should not be used when fish or other culture animals are present in the water. Maintain 1 mg/L while seeding bacteria until nitrates appear. Do not exceed 4 mg/L and do not add fish until ammonia level is at zero. Not FDA-approved. Sold in 500-gram and 2-kg bottles.
